I am about to embark on a new path to my journey this 2013 and in order to begin with a cleaner, clearer mind, it seems that a cleanse is in order.
I also have a small group of friends [who will be introducing them self here once we get started] that are not only willing but excited about taking on this venture with me and so, although it is a fairly short lived, 3-Day Cleanse, I want to send out a special Thank You to each of them for joining me here! I have no doubt that we will each discover something different, as well as something new about our self and our bodies.
Because our experiences will likely be quite different from one another, we will each check in daily to inform you of our thoughts, challenges, emotional surprises, and physical changes as we encounter them. It is important to know and keep in mind that many times, along with transformation, a healing crisis occurs, so it will be quite interesting to see what we uncover.
Please feel free to ask questions if you have any and I hope that you enjoy our travels into this exciting time of cleanse and discovery right along with us.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLEANSE:
To make things easier, we have elected to utilize Blue Print Juices this time around. If you are interested in following along with us, you may find these juices at www.blueprintcleanse.com or at your local Whole Foods Market. The program consists of 6 - 16 oz. juices that we will consume throughout our day about every 2-3 hours, leaving at least a 2-hour window at the end of the evening prior to bedtime. [Instructions state this is an important factor in allowing our insides proper rest.] We will also drink plenty of clean water, green tea [regular or decaf is fine] and/or herbal teas.
During a time of cleanse it is best to allow our body to rest in order to heal and recover gently. If however one chooses to be more active, or even if the day becomes much too overwhelming or challenging and the need of something more becomes necessary, fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, avocado is especially nice and/or some cashew milk may be consumed in small quantities. Keep in mind, in order to still achieve the greatest of benefits, it is vital to consume only clean foods [therefore organic would be highly recommended] and doing so sparingly.
It is also mentioned within the instructions that we may want/need to add in some flax seed oil since we are not getting any fiber during the actual cleanse period [unless you are adding in the above listed 'clean' foods] to help move things along should you notice a lack or slow down of the digestive system working.
Another consideration would be to EXFOLIATE the Skin ... as it is our largest organ and will most definitely be a huge part of our cleanse and detox during this 3-Day Period. Using a dry skin brush prior to bathing will not only increase circulation but it will also help to scrub away the dead skin cells allow new, healthy skin to be revealed.
The following link will take you to a previously posted BLOG Article on DRY SKIN BRUSHING Dated 11/18/2011.
You may also wish to take time for a gentle, therapeutic massage to help move along the toxins that we are looking to shed. However, in my experience, a massage can create another level of healing crisis so I would like to say be careful to drink plenty of water, rest, rest, rest and go for the theory of 'Less is More' here.
We should be starting soon. Check in for updates and again, please feel free to join us and/or ask questions as they arise.
