Well here's an exercise that you can do to discover how YOUR Past is in YOUR Present and effecting your every day life and living.
Pick one aspect of your life. For example it could be your health, your competence, your prosperity or even your relationships, and then think back to when you were a child. What messages about that subject did you hear from the adults in your life at that time that are still playing on your Subconscious tape recorder?
Messages like: 'Men can't be trusted.' 'Money doesn't grow on trees.' 'You're not smart enough to succeed in business.' And the like.
Now ask your self the question 'How is your world reflecting your beliefs back to you, today?'
Once you have identified some of these Life-Limiting impressions within your Subconscious Mind and playing on your tape recorder, look to this quote for the opportunity to help guide you to change your life through changing your beliefs.
'There are no limitations to the self except those you believe in.'
So here's a quick round of EFT that you can do regarding this issue. Be sure to take your own words to fill in the blanks here to make it that much more powerful and healing.

Even though I have this little voice, this little whisper that plays constantly in my mind reminding me _____________ [fill in whatever fits here for you] ... I love and accept myself and this whisper
Even though this belief of ____________ was given to me and not created by me ... I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway
Even though I have this belief that ______________ and I'm not really sure how it came to be but I know that it's part of me ... I accept this belief and love myself without judgment
Now let's Tap on the Individual Points to allow this to surface and then release so that we can 'change' our perspective and outlook surrounding this issue ~
IE - This little voice that constantly speaks to me
OE - This whisper that plays over and over in my mind
UE - This belief about ____________
UN - Even though I didn't create this belief originally, it's mine now
Chin - I have no idea where this thought, this belief came from or why
CB - This constant reminder that _____________
UA - This voice that won't let me forget ____________
BB - This whisper that just won't leave me alone
TH & HC - This belief _____________ that's become apart of me
Taking a nice, slow, deep breath ... allow your self to just relax and allow the thoughts to flow gently in and out of your mind, your heart and just allow them to be there with you. No need to push them through or reason with them. Just let them be.
Taking another nice, slow, deep cleansing breath and this time as you completely relax your body and mind, Release All ... as you exhale.
Notice this experience and where it has taken you. Notice the difference and if for some reason there doesn't seem to be one, by all means, repeat the above phrasing as many times as you need or want until you feel that you have completed this enough to satisfy you.
If you would like to Tap in some Positive Thoughts, now would be an awesome time. Think on something that you would rather have that relates to this issue and then simply take the Statement that you have created or a One Word Phrase and go along the Individual Points and Tap it in. I might suggest that you Tap on both sides of the body just because :)
